Reiki is a natural, safe and simple alternative health modality that everyone can use. Because it helps the body to bring balance to the root cause of disease and imbalance, it can be used effectively to work with physical, mental/emotional and energetic conditions. Reiki is noninvasive and can work in conjunction with medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
A Reiki session begins by having a conversation about your expectations from the session and what you would like to see improved in your body, mind and life. Detailed notes are taken so your progress can be monitored. Any questions you have will be answered then.
You will then lie down on a treatments table, fully clothed. Your comfort will be ensured before the session begins. A pillow, bolster and blanket are provided as necessary. Soft relaxing music will play in the background.
As your practitioner, I will set the intention that your body will draw in the Reiki energy needed to balance and healing for your highest good. I will then begin by holding my hands in various positions above your body. The session is conducted in silence. The sensations that a person receives during a session varies. Some people fall asleep while others notice thoughts coming and going. Feeling heat and/or cold during the session is common.
When the session is complete, I will quietly let you know and have you take your time as you focus on the present. I will provide you with a glass of water and answer any questions that arose during the session.
There is no set number of Reiki sessions required and if you have an intuitive sense of when a session is required, please listen to that. Rather than waiting until something ails you, it is recommended to receive Reiki to help you not only survive but thrive.
